Coordinating Aviation Tax Planning with FAA Regulations

Mary Comazzi presented on a panel at the 2022 National Business Aviation Association (NBAA) Business Aviation Taxes seminar in White Plains, New York, to over 90 attendees. Mary’s panel “Coordinating Aviation Tax Planning with FAA Regulations,” focused on options and limitations associated with operating under FAA Part 91 and Part 135 for cost sharing and reimbursement and design of aircraft ownership and operating structures to accomplish tax planning goals, among other topics. The panel also explored the similarities and differences between FAA’s language and understanding of commercial and noncommercial flights and the view of taxing authorities to avoid making incorrect assumptions in tax planning.
