Zogby Appointed to New Jersey Federal Court Lawyers Advisory Committee

Michael C. Zogby has been appointed to the Lawyers Advisory Committee for the United States District Court for the District of New Jersey by Chief Judge Renée Marie Bumb. The mission of the Lawyers Advisory Committee is to serve the District of New Jersey in achieving, dispensing, and administering justice in a fair, impartial, effective, and efficient manner.

Zogby is partner-in-charge of Barnes & Thornburg’s New Jersey and Philadelphia offices, co-chair of the Trial and Global Disputes practice, and a member of the firm’s Management Committee.

The Lawyer Advisory Committee’s role includes serving as a liaison and method of communication between the bench, the bar, and the public, discussing with the court matters the committee believes might improve the administration of justice, undertaking projects as requested by the court, conducting disciplinary investigations upon request of the court, and reviewing and recommending local rules and procedures to improve court proceedings.

“I am deeply honored to accept this appointment to the Lawyers Advisory Committee for the District of New Jersey,” Zogby said. “It is a privilege to serve alongside esteemed members of the judiciary and my colleagues on both sides of the bar, contributing to the continued excellence of our federal court. I look forward to working diligently to promote access to justice and to champion effective advocacy as a cornerstone of our legal system.”

Zogby represents pharmaceutical, medical device, life sciences, biotechnology, consumer products, manufacturing, and chemical companies in product liability, mass tort, toxic tort, environmental litigation, and business disputes alleging negligence, failure to warn, strict liability, design and manufacturing defects, fraud, consumer protection, breach of warranty, wrongful death, antitrust, intellectual property, eDiscovery, punitive damages, and trade secrets challenges. Additionally, he counsels clients on cross-border e-discovery issues, document and data preservation requirements, proportionality considerations, and privilege protections.

He is a member of the Product Liability Advisory Council Board of Directors, the Trial Attorneys of America Board of Trustees and the Trial Attorneys of New Jersey Board of Trustees. He serves on the faculty of the National Trial Advocacy College at the University of Virginia School of Law, and frequently speaks on trial practice, ethics, cross border, and discovery issues.
