Volpe has represented clients in criminal investigations, contract disputes, and Freedom of Information Act and state data practices issues, along with securities and financial services-related litigation. Volpe also has experience in the areas of defamation, First Amendment law and mass tort litigation.
As a journalist, Volpe has worked in newsrooms in the U.S. and Canada. Prior to joining Barnes & Thornburg, she was a reporter for KARE-TV, the NBC affiliate in Minneapolis-St. Paul, where she led a unique strategic partnership with Minnesota Public Radio. Volpe specialized in investigative reporting, enterprise reporting and in-depth storytelling involving complex and important issues affecting the community. While a reporter, Volpe covered many high-profile criminal and civil cases and provided depth and perspective to legal issues in the news.
Volpe graduated summa cum laude from William Mitchell College of Law and earned her Bachelor of Journalism degree with highest honors from Carleton University in Ottawa, Canada. In addition to being admitted to practice in Minnesota, Volpe is also admitted to practice before the U.S. District Court for the District of Minnesota.
