Barnes & Thornburg Partner Mark Keenan Elected Fellow of College of Labor and Employment Lawyers

ATLANTA – The College of Labor and Employment Lawyers has elected Barnes & Thornburg partner Mark Keenan as a Fellow for his accomplishments as a management-side traditional labor attorney. Keenan will be inducted into the college as part of the 24th class on Nov. 9 in New Orleans.

Keenan joins his colleagues Keith Brodie, Amy Zdravecky and Robert Sikkel of the Grand Rapids office and Kenneth Yerkes of the Indianapolis office, who also are Fellows. The College of Labor and Employment Lawyers was established in 1995 to recognize labor and employment lawyers who, by long and outstanding service, have distinguished themselves as leaders in their field, exemplifying professionalism and integrity to clients, adversaries and neutrals.

Keenan, who practices in the firm’s Atlanta office, advises employers on complex workforce issues, with an emphasis on union avoidance campaigns and labor relations strategies for organizations with established union relationships. His experience spans several industries, including manufacturing, retail and hospitality, and the public sector. Keenan also focuses on collective bargaining negotiations, arbitration cases and traditional labor cases in front of National Labor Relations Board (NLRB) and federal appellate courts. In addition, his practice also encompasses noncompete and trade secrets litigation; wage and hour matters; defending discrimination claims; and ERISA litigation.

He has also been recognized with several local and national legal awards from a variety of acclaimed institutions including Chambers USA, Georgia Super Lawyers and the Labor Relations Institute.

With more than 600 attorneys and other legal professionals, Barnes & Thornburg is one of the largest law firms in the country. The firm serves clients worldwide from 14 offices in Atlanta, California, Chicago, Delaware, Indiana, Michigan, Minneapolis, Ohio, Texas and Washington, D.C.
