As national counsel for several companies involved in complex business litigation in both federal and state courts throughout the country, Mike’s work focuses on the representation of financial institutions. Mike also represents individual corporate directors and officers in malfeasance, antitrust and securities litigation. Recently, Mike worked with directors of stressed and failed banks in claims brought by shareholders and/or the FDIC.
He also assists lending and other financial institutions in mortgage fraud recovery. Mike represents virtually every type of entity up and down the mortgage lending chain, from initial funding to warehouse lenders to investors in the secondary market. He has assisted such clients in seeking and receiving significant recoveries against brokers, appraisers, borrowers, title companies and others involved in the loan transaction. In addition, he defends banks in Truth in Lending Act (TILA) and Real Estate Settlement Procedures Act (RESPA) claims.
While in California and prior to joining the firm, Mike tried a number of complex cases involving commercial and securities fraud. He also resolved contract disputes and professional malpractice claims.
