Carrie Raver is dedicated to representing public and privately held companies in high-stakes complex commercial litigation throughout the country ranging from insurance coverage disputes to license agreement, contract and business tort disputes. As a trial attorney with over two decades of experience, she has recovered hundreds of millions of dollars for corporate policyholders in insurance policy enforcement actions and she litigated one of few court cases involving the scope of coverage available under a cyber insurance policy.

As a trial attorney with over two decades of experience, she has recovered hundreds of millions of dollars for corporate policyholders in insurance policy enforcement actions and she litigated one of few court cases involving the scope of coverage available under a cyber insurance policy.

Carrie’s direct and common-sense approach to advocacy allows her to establish credibility with judges and clients. She is valued by clients for her depth of knowledge and experience with insurance law and the litigation process, as well as her ability to identify the correct solution to address each client’s unique problems. Carrie regularly represents corporate policyholders in resolving complicated insurance coverage disputes involving declaratory judgments and breach of contract and bad faith coverage actions and claims, including:

Additionally, her practice includes disputes involving environmental property damage and underground storage tanks claims; consumer class actions; general and excess liability claims; business interruption, extra expense and contingent business interruption claims; product liability claims; and flood claims. 

Carrie formerly served as a member of the team assisting the Special Compliance Coordinator appointed by the U.S. Department of Commerce to monitor, assess and report on the U.S. export control compliance of Zhongxing Telecommunications Equipment Corporation of Shenzhen, China, and ZTE Kangxun Telecommunications Ltd. of Hi-New Shenzhen, China.

Carrie's significant representations include:

  • Obtaining a $51 million judgment for defense costs and indemnity of antitrust and RICO/fraud class action litigation against primary insurers in a case involving the marketing and sale of pharmaceuticals 
  • Obtaining $50 million in insurance proceeds for property damage and business income loss for a manufacturing client
  • Obtaining $28 million in insurance proceeds for a ransomware event for a client headquartered in Europe 
  • Obtaining summary judgment in favor of an insurance broker in a lawsuit involving the negligent procurement of insurance and failure to advise claims
  • Representing a baby and juvenile product manufacturer in a coverage dispute involving antitrust retail and consumer class action litigation against primary and umbrella insurers
  • Representing religious organizations in a lawsuit against an insurance broker involving the negligent procurement of insurance, breach of fiduciary duties, and breach of contract claims
  • Representing a paper manufacturer regarding the recovery of defense and indemnity costs incurred in connection with numerous claims of bodily injury and/or property damage against insolvent liability carriers
  • Advising a manufacturer of specialty engineered products regarding the procurement of insurance, and claim assistance and negotiation involving commercial general liability, fiduciary liability and D&O policies
  • Representing a food service/food packaging manufacturer regarding the recovery of defense and indemnity costs incurred in connection with numerous individual claims of bodily injury and/or property damage against historic liability carriers
