With over a decade of experience, Scott has prosecuted patent applications in the fields of software, semiconductors, optics, electrical and mechanical systems, including electrical and mechanical subsystems in automobiles. Scott’s deep experience in preparing and prosecuting patents enable him to position inventor ideas to avoid the legal obstacles common to such inventions.
Notably, Scott attends brainstorming meetings with inventors to identify inventions and determine patent filing strategies based on business priorities and considerations on where the industry is moving. He works with a team of attorneys to prepare and file patent applications to strategically protect the clients’ IP.
Additionally, Scott assists clients in lowering their risks when entering a new product space by identifying and analyzing existing patents in that space and helping clients redesign their products to avoid patent infringement. He also prepares defenses against claims of patent infringement.
Prior to becoming an attorney, Scott worked as a software engineer. He implemented custom software for medical device companies and also developed cellphone games.
