Scott focuses his practice on the formation and operation of private investment funds, including hedge funds, private equity funds, venture capital funds, credit funds, cryptocurrency funds, funds of funds and advisory platforms. Scott provides ongoing regulatory and compliance guidance to investment managers and represents institutional and other investors with respect to their investments in private funds and related products.
Scott comes to Barnes & Thornburg from a global law firm’s New York office. Prior to that, he held a variety of legal and business roles for private investment managers, serving as general counsel and chief compliance officer of Coastland Capital, president and general counsel for Bocage Capital and assistant general counsel for Chilton Investment Company.
