ATLANTA – Barnes & Thornburg is pleased to announce that Stephen Weizenecker has been named chair of the Motion Picture, Television, Cable and Radio division of the American Bar Association (ABA) Forum on the Entertainment and Sports Industries.
The ABA Forum on the Entertainment and Sports Industries brings together experienced industry individuals to provide educational resources and networking opportunities for attorneys working in this area of law. As chair of the Motion Picture, Television, Cable and Radio division, Weizenecker will lead the content and programming for the division. This content and programming includes, among other things, articles, webinars, and live panels at regional and the annual meetings.
A partner in the Entertainment, Media and Sports practice group, Weizenecker manages financing, distribution and licensing needs for his clients across industries including film, television, music and videogames. He has extensive experience helping entertainment industry clients navigate productions incentives across the world and has assisted several jurisdictions on developing their production incentives for the industry.
Weizenecker is an active and recognized industry leader in Atlanta and within the larger entertainment community. He was recently named to the Atlanta Film Festival’s Board of Directors, is a member of the Georgia Governor’s Advisory Commission on Film, Music and Digital Entertainment and was recognized in Georgia Trend’s 2018 Legal Elite List. He has been consistently lauded in Variety’s annual Legal Impact Report and Dealmakers Elite list and has served as a longtime member in the ABA’s Forum on Sports and Entertainment Industries Governing Committee prior to his appointment as division chair.
