Leslie K. Eason

Leslie skillfully manages employment litigation covering virtually all facets of federal and state employment law, guiding cases from the administrative stage through to trial, which includes proficiency in mediation and arbitration processes. She possesses extensive experience in litigating complex multi-plaintiff, collective action, and class action cases in state and federal courts. Additionally, Leslie has considerable experience in initiating and defending against claims involving breach of restrictive covenants.

Notably, Leslie offers comprehensive counseling services that span nearly all aspects of employment-related business operations. Her experience includes developing and implementing policies and procedures, managing benefits, as well as training staff and supervisors.

Leslie is adept at conducting workplace investigations to assess the validity of discrimination and retaliation claims, or to probe systemic managerial issues requiring strategic actions, often focusing on cases involving senior management. She provides practical advice to employers on hiring practices, terminations, reductions in workforce, and litigation avoidance strategies. Additionally, Leslie skillfully negotiates separation and employment agreements. She is proficient in drafting industry-specific employment handbooks, policies, and procedures, ensuring clients are well-equipped to handle their employment law needs.

Immediately prior to joining Barnes & Thornburg, Leslie was co-managing partner of an AmLaw 20 firm’s Atlanta office and also led its Birmingham, Alabama, and Jackson, Mississippi, offices. Leslie also was general counsel for a U.S. manufacturer with international operations before returning to private practice. She is a frequent presenter on developments in employment law; creative resolution techniques; and diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) issues.
