As chief integration officer, Debby Usher works closely with the firm’s internal administrative departments, attorneys and management to ensure the successful transition and integration of the firm’s lateral attorneys. Debby is responsible for assisting new partners and the partners’ department chairs and practice group chairs with their business and marketing plans and creating synergies among partners with intersecting practices and/or client bases.

Debby also focuses significant efforts on serving as a primary representative of Barnes & Thornburg within the legal community, particularly building and enhancing the firm’s reputation in its markets across the country.

Debby works directly with the firm managing partner, firm leadership, and various departments and groups across the firm to execute a formal integration program, involving pre-hire preparation, offering a concierge approach to laterals. The integration program aims to not only support laterals in their transition to the firm but to aide them in strategically growing their practices.

Early in her career, Debby worked as an office administrator in both large and small firms in the Chicago area.
