Joe’s experience includes virtually all phases of commercial real estate, including acquisitions, dispositions, leasing, financing and development. He is also skilled in advising on affordable housing-related endeavors, having represented syndicators, investors and developers in low-income housing tax credit transactions on a nationwide scale.
Joe’s clients include developers, investors, funds and commercial property owners. He drafts and negotiates purchase and sale agreements, leases, partnership and operating agreements; facilitates and negotiates the financing involved in real estate transactions; and coordinates due diligence.
Joe has been involved in transactions ranging from millions to tens of millions of dollars in value. Notably, he recently closed a number of large-scale multi-family real estate transactions with complex land use restrictions and condominium components.
Appreciated by clients and colleagues for his initiative, accountability and receptiveness, Joe believes in serving as a conduit for finding common ground between his clients and their partners. At the center of his practice is a commitment to constructing productive relationships of trust.
Prior to joining Barnes & Thornburg, Joe served as an associate attorney for Wendy's International, LLC. Joe’s hands-on experience working for Wendy’s helped him to understand the intricacies of how businesses operate, as well as the absolute need for cost conservation and risk mitigation.
