Don combines his deep legal experience in discovery with technology know-how to leverage technology, processes and workflow to gain efficiencies and value for clients’ e-discovery needs. He is well-versed in drafting discovery motions and responses and preparing fact witnesses for depositions.
Outside of discovery, Don has worked on pharmaceutical and medical device multi-district litigation (MDL) settlements, including the drafting of release agreements and the valuation of claims.
In 2021, Don was selected by a multinational Fortune 50 company for a year-long secondment in its legal department. His role involved working with in-house counsel to manage and resolve MDL matters, consumer complaints and single-plaintiff matters.
Don also has experience in investigations of compliance matters. Don currently serves on the team of the Special Compliance Coordinator, appointed by the U.S. Department of Commerce, to monitor, assess, and report on the U.S. export control compliance of Zhongxing Telecommunications Equipment Corporation, of Shenzhen, China, and ZTE Kangxun Telecommunications Ltd. of Hi-New Shenzhen, China (collectively, ZTE).
Prior to joining Barnes & Thornburg, Don worked with an AmLaw 50 firm in its eData practice advising pharmaceutical clients’ on their e-discovery needs. During law school, he gained legal experience as a law clerk for the Indiana Supreme Court Disciplinary Commission.
