Khoa is involved in virtually all aspects of litigation, from complaint and motion drafting to discovery management to trial preparation and beyond. While focused on commercial and environmental litigation, Khoa also has experience in product liability, media and entertainment, and estate litigation.
With his scientific and environmental background, Khoa advises clients on a range of environmental matters from general regulatory compliance to carbon sequestration projects to System Unit Resource Protection Act (SURPA) damage assessments.
A strong believer in well-rounded lawyering, Khoa has also assisted clients in matters ranging from higher education regulation to contract drafting to intellectual property infringement.
Before coming to Barnes & Thornburg full-time, Khoa was a summer associate at the firm and was a corporate counsel legal intern with Cummins Inc. At Cummins, he drafted sales contracts, intellectual property cease-and-desist letters, and cybersecurity protocols. Khoa also advised on property solutions for Cummins' distribution centers nationwide and was involved in employment litigation matters.
Khoa gained experience in law school as a teaching assistant for Professor Allison Martin, where he governed and reported on student engagement and performance in several legal writing courses.
During law school, Khoa spent a summer studying the Chinese legal system at Renmin University School of Law in Beijing. While there, Khoa also interned at JunHe, LLP working in the area of international corporate finance.
