From 1996-2001, Teresa was the Assistant Vice President and Counsel for the University of Notre Dame, Office of the General Counsel. During her time with the university she provided advice on issues related to employment discrimination and harassment, employment policies and procedures, wage and hour issues, employee benefit plans, workers' compensation, and disability accommodation issues. She was also involved in dispute resolution via participation in settlement negotiations and arbitrations; drafting and negotiating release agreements; engaging in contract negotiations of virtually all types, including intellectual property; and advising the university in a variety of matters regarding discipline and privacy issues.
From 1990-1995, Teresa served as an associate attorney at Brobeck, Phleger & Harrison in San Francisco, Calif. She represented and advised clients in employment and labor law matters, including employment discrimination and harassment, employment policies and procedures, wage and hour issues, family leave, workers' compensation, disability accommodation issues, and NLRA matters, including representation in union organizing campaigns. In addition, she litigated employment disputes, including drafting litigation documents, witness preparation, taking and defending depositions and trial; and drafted and presented training materials to human resources personnel.
