Mary Comazzi, partner and chair of Barnes & Thornburg’s Aviation and Unmanned Aerial Vehicles practice group, and Nicholas Galbraith, partner in the International Trade practice group, will present “US Export Compliance for International Operators” at Verticon 2025.
This session highlights the top five things international operators should know before embarking on international missions. The presentation will provide a fundamental overview of the two primary sets of regulations that govern the export of hardware, software, and technology from the U.S.: Export Administration Regulations (EAR) and the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR). Additionally, Nick and Mary will highlight key compliance steps operators should take when engaged in the export, reexport, and transfer of military and dual-use aircraft, spare parts, and related technology.
