21st Annual Winter Forum on Real Estate Opportunity & Private Fund Investing

Sal LaViña, chair of Barnes & Thornburg’s Real Estate Department, and Brian Crist, real estate partner, will present at the Information Management Network (IMN) 21st Annual Winter Forum on Real Estate Opportunity & Private Fund Investing.

LaViña will moderate a panel entitled “Multifamily Strategies in a Period of Market Normalization.” This session will discuss normalization in the multifamily sector after years of growth, the outlook for new supply and construction while demand is still high, the availability of capital for development and acquisitions, cap rates and exit cap rates, mixed-use and mixed-income developments performance, and the impact of the election results on housing regulation and other legislation critical for multifamily housing.

Crist will present as part of a panel, “Launching a Fund 101: Essentials & Pitfalls to Avoid.” This panel will evaluate different investment models, including deal-by-deal, fund, and hybrid investment models; consider how investment strategies and target asset classes factor into the investment decision; costs, fees, timeframes and return potentials; and fund structure and tax considerations.
