MINNEAPOLIS – Barnes & Thornburg LLP announced today that Connie Lahn has been named the new managing partner of the firm’s Minneapolis office, effective immediately. Lahn becomes the second woman office managing partner at the firm, joining Karen McGee, managing partner of the Washington, D.C., office.
Since opening in 2009 following the acquisition of The Parsinen Law Firm, Barnes & Thornburg’s Minneapolis office has nearly doubled in size to 38 attorneys, including 19 partners.
“With Connie taking the reins, we expect her entrepreneurial spirit and skill set will translate well to leading a creative and proactive client-focused environment, as well as recruiting the area’s best legal talent,” said Bob Grand, firm managing partner of Barnes & Thornburg.
“The office has achieved substantial growth and success and I hope to continue that upward trajectory in my new role,” said Lahn. “We have an amazing firm culture and national platform that, combined with incredibly talented and innovative practitioners, is resonating in the Minneapolis legal and business communities, and I am excited about the opportunities the future holds.”
Lahn joined Barnes & Thornburg from Fafinski Mark & Johnson in 2014. She is a member of the Finance, Insolvency and Restructuring Department and serves as co-chair of the Asset Revitalization Practice Group. She also founded the firm’s Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) Practice Group and serves as its co-chair with Clifford Maine.
Lahn added: “Diversity in the legal profession has been a priority throughout my career, and this leadership role will help me further effectutate change in this area while fostering an inclusive and collaborative office atmosphere that brings out the best in each of our employees.”
Lahn earned her J.D., magna cum laude, from William Mitchell College of Law and her B.A. in English from St. Cloud State University.
With more than 600 attorneys and other legal professionals, Barnes & Thornburg is one of the largest law firms in the country. The firm serves clients worldwide from 13 offices in Atlanta, Chicago, Dallas, Delaware, Indiana, Los Angeles, Michigan, Minneapolis, Ohio, and Washington, D.C.
