National legal publication Law360 has recognized Barnes & Thornburg’s Christine J. Sohar Henter with a Law360 2020 MVP Award in the international trade category.
A partner in the firm’s Washington, D.C., office, Sohar Henter is an international trade lawyer in the firm’s Corporate Department. The award honors lawyers for significant achievements and for “securing hard-earned successes in high-stakes litigation, complex global matters and record-breaking deals” over the past year.
Law360 noted Sohar Henter’s achievements, which included a victory for a coalition of ceramic tile companies that were injured by unfairly traded Chinese ceramic tile. She also assisted clients with cases involving U.S. Customs and Border Protection, exclusions from antidumping and countervailing duty orders, export control compliance, and government regulatory issues.
As a member of the firm’s corporate department, Sohar Henter represents trade associations, governments, and corporate clients on international trade matters, including import trade remedies, customs compliance, export controls and international business transactions, based on her public and private sector experience.
Sohar Henter’s import trade practice includes advising clients on customs compliance, trade remedy proceedings, Buy America requirements, Foreign Trade Zones, and Section 337 Intellectual Property investigations. She also helps clients successfully navigate the complex rules of international trade agreements, trade legislation and regulations.
