Barnes & Thornburg Welcomes New Attorneys and Legal Professionals

Barnes & Thornburg has added new corporate, labor and employment, and litigation attorneys and legal professionals to its Chicago, Detroit Metro, Los Angeles, New York, Indianapolis and Los Angeles offices. 

Ana Baca, an associate in the Chicago office, brings a decade of experience in Mexico as an associate and as a paralegal in the U.S. working on global and domestic transactional matters to help clients expand and manage their global operations. Ana leverages her knowledge and skill, including being bilingual, to assist clients in a variety of industries, including freight, logistics, pharmaceutical, software, music, and telecommunications. She earned her J.D. from DePaul University College of Law in 2020, her LL.M. and Certificate of Business Administration from Northwestern Pritzker School of Law in 2015, and her LL.B. from Instituto Tecnologico de Estudios Superiores de Monterrey in 2011.

Christopher Burtley, of counsel in the Detroit Metro office, represents clients across the spectrum – from small businesses to Fortune 500 companies – in a range of contentious matters, including breach of contract, tortious interference, supply chain disputes, and more, providing counsel through discovery and trial preparation. Beyond his litigation work, Christopher offers strategic advice to emerging business entities and individuals seeking to grow their business while effectively managing risk. He earned his J.D. from the University of Michigan Law School in 2015 and his B.A. in international relations from Michigan State University.

A staff attorney in the Los Angeles office, William Craver’s practice ranges from handling corporate matters to live events, to reviewing and drafting songwriter and producer agreements, recording deals, side artist and featured artist agreements, merchandise agreements, and assignment of copyrights. He also advises clients on corporate buyouts and other transactions, including review, analysis and drafting of entity formation documents such as articles of organization, operating agreements, written consents of business formation, and non-disclosure agreements. He earned his J.D. from UCLA School of Law in 2020, his M.B.A. in entrepreneurship specialization from Belmont University in 2017 and his B.B.A. in marketing from The University of Georgia.

An associate in the Indianapolis office, Christine Duncan focuses her work on general corporate counseling, complex business and commercial transactions, supply chain issues, data security and privacy issues, and finance. She counsels and represents companies in transactions related to business entity formation, M&A, contract negotiations, asset sales, dissolution, and governance issues. She earned her J.D. from Indiana University Robert H. McKinney School of Law in 2018, her M.B.A. in business administration from Eastern Illinois University in 2006, and her B.S. in business administration from Southern Illinois University-Edwardsville in 2002.

Patrick Morse, an associate in the Columbus office, primarily represents syndicators in the acquisition of equity interests in low-income housing tax credit projects. Additionally, he represents developers and owners in various other real estate law matters including leasing, acquisitions, and zoning. Growing up in a family that developed various restaurant brands and built custom homes, Patrick was exposed to the ins-and-outs of entrepreneurship and real estate from a young age. He earned his J.D. from Capital University Law School in 2021 and his B.S.B.A. from The Ohio State University Fisher College of Business in 2018.

Nora Naccachian, an associate in the Los Angeles office, reviews, analyzes and drafts pleadings and motions, including motions to compel, motions for a new trial, motions for summary judgments, and trial and appellate briefs and oral arguments. She has experience with appellate, civil, constitutional, and property-related matters. She also has conducted research and drafted memoranda related to Fourth Amendment violations, as well as for bankruptcy procedural issues, and child labor laws. She earned her J.D. from Loyola Law School in 2020 and her B.A. in psychology from University of California Santa Barbara in 2015.

As an associate in the Indianapolis office, Danielle Neal Price counsels publicly and privately held companies regarding sales and acquisitions, commercial and technology transactions, licensing, and leveraged finance and lending best practices. In her M&A work, she counsels clients on a range of topics for transactions valued at a few thousand to several million dollars. Danielle advises through the very early stages of a deal all the way to closing and beyond, handling a variety of deal components including purchase and sale agreements, financing documents, representation and warranty insurance, legal opinions, and other organizational documents. She earned her J.D. from Indiana University Robert H. McKinney School of Law in 2018 and her B.A. in Spanish and her Bachelor of Social Work from Indiana University in 2015.

Molly Stewart, a paralegal in the New York office, assists the firm’s M&A and investment fund attorneys with data room management, due diligence, and closing and post-closing compliance. She prepares and files domestic and foreign corporate documents, including formations, organizational and operating agreements, foreign qualifications, and UCC financing statements. She earned her B.A. in international political economy from Fordham University in 2018.

As of counsel in the Chicago office, David Weldon advises and partners with employers of all sizes, assesses and helps to minimize liability, resolves disputes, and finds solutions for day-to-day issues involving employees and unions. David defends employers in state and federal courts across the country in single-plaintiff and class and collective action litigation involving trade secrets, restrictive covenants, breach of contract, wage and hour violations, discrimination, harassment and retaliation. He earned his J.D. from The John Marshall Law School in 2011 and his B.S. from University of South Carolina in 2006.
