Barnes & Thornburg has been recognized by the Diversity & Flexibility Alliance as one of 78 firms around the world that is “Tipping the Scales” in the gender breakdown of attorneys promoted to partner. The Diversity & Flexibility Alliance’s 2023 New Partner Report features a compilation of public data related to the gender breakdown of attorneys promoted to partner in U.S. and global law firms.
Firms with 50 percent or more women in their 2023 new partner class are credited in the report for tipping the scales. Barnes & Thornburg’s 2023 partner class, with 56 percent women, outpaced the report’s findings that 44 percent of new partners in the firms surveyed are women.
“Being named a ‘Tipping the Scales’ recipient only solidifies Barnes & Thornburg’s commitment to gender parity,” said Dawn R. Rosemond, firm diversity partner. “Our BTWomen Talent Resource Group has been instrumental in creating programs that support the leadership development and elevation of not only our attorneys, but also our business professionals. We are pleased by the recognition and look to continue to support our women lawyers in their professional development.”
