Cindy’s primary focus is on the review of title and survey for commercial transactions and those involving low-income housing tax credits and new market tax credits. She examines documents affecting the title and survey for additional burdens that may affect the properties in question.
In this work, she has and maintains direct contact with title companies and surveyors to resolve title and survey issues. She also has experience working in renewable energy transactions, traditional real estate closings and the financing of commercial real estate and affordable housing transactions.
Cindy’s other responsibilities include assisting with closings and preparation of closing documents, reviewing due diligence, handling various state and county filings, tax parcel research and following up with post-closing title and survey matters.
Prior to joining Barnes & Thornburg, Cindy spent nearly a decade as a paralegal with a boutique Columbus law firm. Before becoming a paralegal, she worked as a legal assistant for almost 10 years for the Supreme Court of Ohio and two other Columbus law firms.
In addition to being a paralegal, Cindy is a notary public.
