Kathleen Anderson will address the current priorities and activities of the U.S. Department of Labor (DOL), and analyze how they may affect employers day-to-day. She will also provide guidance on how to interact with the DOL, especially when the agency knocks on your door.

Recent Developments Concerning the NLRB and Immigration Reform
Presented by Mark S. Kittaka, Barnes & Thornburg LLP

Mark Kittaka will discuss the myriad court decisions affecting the NLRB, including the legality of recess appointments, the NLRB posting rule, Union neutrality agreements and more. Mark will also provide an update on the ever-changing landscape of comprehensive immigration reform.

Socially Awkward: How to Protect Your Company from the Risks of Social Media
Presented by Adam Bartrom, Barnes & Thornburg LLP & Anthony Juliano, Asher Agency

Adam and Anthony will provide an interactive presentation on how to deal with bad press, misbehaving employees and everything in between in the emerging social media era. Anthony will discuss how to protect your brand--on social media and beyond--when confronted with a crisis communications challenge that originates with one of your employees. Adam will talk about how to deal with employee misbehavior on social media (i.e., Facebook, Twitter, Youtube, LinkedIn, etc) or while using the company email system. This presentation would be of interest to any professional supervising employees or working in the social media arena (or both!)
